A spear with a wooden shaft and a wooden tip with prongs that is tucked loosely into the shaft. According to the inventory, the spearhead is a "simulacrum". A fur tuft is tied around the tang of the spearhead by bast and a leather band that ends in a loop is added. The shaft is beset with fur and in the lower part with a seamed up leather cuff that is additionally wrapped with sinews. Remains of feathers stick in the sinews.
The spear comes probably from North America and was donated to the Gewerbemuseum (Museum of Applied Arts) Ulm in 1919 by Karl Kärcher (1882 - 1968). Kärcher was teacher of industrial arts in Ulm (1908 - 1918) and from 1918 on director of the industrial school in Bad Cannstatt. From where and when he obtained the object is not clarified.
