Description

A spear with a spearhead from iron and a wooden shaft. The long, slender blade hast a heart-shaped base and a midrib on both sides. It is fixed to the wooden shaft by a socket. The shaft has a thick midsection, on which the socket is put. A thinner section follows and then the shaft thickens at the end. On the end of the shaft there are seven little notches carved in. The shaft is not original.

Presumably, the spear comes from East Africa because it has the characteristic form of the hunting spears of the Masai, except from the subsequently applied shaft.
