Presumably a club from hardwood, cut from the solid. It has a round smooth sanded handle and a spherical knob on the upper end. In some places, the handle is provided with superficial carved notches.
Possibly, this is a so-called knobkerrie, a form of wooden club that is used in Southern and Eastern Africa. The provenance is unknown.
