Das Gemälde zeigt ein idyllisches Bild der Neckarstadt mit der Stiftskirche über den Häusern am Flusshang. Das 1916 fertiggestellte Elektrizitätswerk der Firma Schneider am oberen Mühlkanal ist durch ein kleines Stauwehr ersetzt, und auch sonst fehlt jede Spur der Elektrifizierung. Der in Wien geborenen Maler war Meisterschüler bei Gustav Schönleber an der Karlsruher Kunstakademie. Das Gemälde wurde 2019 vom Horber Kultur- und Museumsverein erworben.
