Description

Conically formed bamboo shaft with decorations that is only partly hollow and that is broken on the upper, tapering side. Presumably, there was the missing spearhead applied. On the bamboo cane are four seams that are painted with broad stripes in a light brown on the lower half and with broad stripes in a dark brown/black on the upper half. In between the both upper painted areas, there are delicate line ornaments.

This is presumably the shaft of a Melanesian spear that was used for fishing. It supposedly belongs to the collection of albert Daiber; a clear attribution, however, is not possible.
