In den 1980er Jahren fordern Umweltschützer wie hier auf der Bundesstraße Richtung Offenburg am damaligen Übergang der Bahnstrecke nach Schramberg Tempolimits im Straßenverkehr. Jenseits der Urlaubswerbung sind die Baumbestände des Schwarzwald hoch gefährdet.
