Dieser Denar des römischen Kaisers Didius Julianus zeigt auf dem Avers sein Seitenporträt nach rechts mit Lorbeerkranz. Die Legende nennt seinen Titel als Augustus: IMP(ERATOR) CAES(AR) M(ARCVS) DID(IVS) IVLIAN(VS) AVG(VSTVS). Er war einer der römischen Kaiser des Vier-Kaiser-Jahres 193 n. Chr. und regierte von März bis Juni 193 n. Chr.. Auch auf dem Revers ist Didius Iulianus abgebildet, stehend in Toga mit einer Schriftrolle in seiner Linken und einem Globus in seiner Rechten. Die Legende RECTOR ORBIS bezeichnet ihn als „Lenker der Welt“. Dieser Münztyp (Toga-tragender Kaiser mit Globus und Schriftrolle zusammen mit der Inschrift RECTOR ORBIS) trat erstmals unter eben diesen Didius Iulianus auf.
