Es handelt sich um einen Original-Stahlstich von Nordheim nach einer Zeichnung von V. Schertle. Abgebildet ist ein Portrait von Friedrich Hecker. Friedrich Karl Franz Hecker war ein deutschamerikanischer Rechtsanwalt, Politiker und radikaldemokratischer Revolutionär. Er spielte in der Anfangsphase der badischen und der deutschen Revolution von 1848/49 bis April/Mai 1848 eine zentrale Rolle.
