Description

Der Kupferstecher Giorgio Ghisi (1520-1582) aus Mantua war zweimal in Paris und Fontainebleau, wo auch andere italienische Künstler unter Leitung von Francesco Primaticcio (1504-1570) für den französischen König arbeiteten. In einer Folge von vier Blättern reproduzierte Ghisi Teile eines Deckenfreskos in Schloss Fontainebleau, das Primaticcio in den 1540er Jahren ausgeführt hatte. Dementsprechend sind die Götter in starker Untersicht dargestellt.
