Das Motiv wurde am Unterlauf der Saale aufgenommen. Um 1900 binden die Aufnahmen die gewerblich betriebe Flößerei in ihre Darstellungen ein. Holztransport per Floß erfolgt hier noch bis in die 1930er Jahre.
